Public transport in Ostrava (DPO) is among the most modern and cleanest in Europe – the entire fleet is fully barrier-free and eco-friendly. Ostrava utilizes the intelligent ODIS system, which integrates trams, buses, trolleybuses, and suburban trains.

For occasional trips, you don′t need a paper ticket; simply tap your contactless payment card against the terminal when boarding and exiting (the "Tap-In/Tap-Out" system automatically calculates the most cost-effective fare). However, as a university employee, we recommend purchasing a long-term pass on an ODISka smart card (or its digital version in the mobile app) for your daily commute, as it offers significantly lower prices. The transit network is very dense and will reliably take you to all university campuses as well as popular recreational areas around the city.

Don′t forget to tap out when exiting to ensure you are charged the correct fare.
