Internal Grants
Internal grant calls create opportunities for the development of creative, research, and professional activities of academic staff, researchers, and students across the University of Ostrava. Their aim is to support the preparation of high-quality project proposals and to foster the development of academic staff, researchers and students engaged in creative and cultural activities.
At the same time, these calls help strengthen researchers’ competitiveness when applying for external grant schemes and promote mentoring, interdisciplinary collaboration, as well as the personal and professional growth of members of the university community. Through its internal grant schemes, the University of Ostrava actively supports innovative ideas and creative activities.
Junior Star UO
The internal grant call aims to support junior researchers at the University of Ostrava interested in applying for an individual junior grant from external funding providers. This call is aimed at supporting personal growth and the creation of a high-quality project proposal that will pass formal review by an external funding provider and contribute to junior researchers' professional development. In addition to submitting a grant application as the principal investigator, the University of Ostrava also considers the requirement fulfilled if a junior researcher submits a grant application as a co-investigator (i.e., the lead researcher representing the University of Ostrava within the project team), provided that the application concerns a bilateral or multilateral grant involving partner institutions.
Excellence UO
The aim of the internal grant call is to support researchers at the University of Ostrava who are interested in submitting a revised application for an individual research grant from external funding. This call is designed to support the development of high-quality project proposals for external funding providers and will also contribute to the professional development of researchers. A mandatory prerequisite is that the applicant has already submitted a grant proposal in the role of principal investigator/supervisor (co-investigator/co-supervisor) which received a positive evaluation but was not funded, e.g., due to a lack of available resources.
Creative UO
The aim of this internal grant Call is to support researchers and students at the University of Ostrava in their creative and other activities, as well as in their personal development. The support is primarily targeted at the cultural and creative sectors. The call encourages leadership and mentoring activities engaging students and academic staff in projects aimed at increasing public awareness of the University´s creative and cultural pursuits.
NEOLAiA Citizen Science
Citizen Science is a research approach that actively involves ordinary citizens not as respondents or audience members, but as full-fledged members of a scientific team. The Citizen Science Programme, announced as part of the NEOLAiA alliance, helps the UO’s employees engage the general public in research activities while also promoting public awareness of the research conducted at the university.
Proof-of-Concept Vouchers
KTTC UO provides methodological support for the preparation and implementation of proof-of-concept projects aimed at validating the application potential of research findings and technologies in real-world settings. Subject to available funding, a continuous call is available, open to academic and research staff with project proposals suitable for verifying the transferability of scientific and research results into practice, or focused on initiating contractual and collaborative research conducted in cooperation with application-sector partners.
