AnotationThe project focuses on examining the decision-making processes and everyday practices of social workers operating within the child protection system in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The aim is to understand how social workers choose their approaches when working with involved actors, whether they prefer a child-centred approach, systemic work with the family, parent-oriented interventions, or various combinations of these strategies and how these choices influence the practice of social work. The research also aims to identify the factors that shape these choices and to explore how practitioners balance child protection, family support, and institutional requirements within legislative and organisational constraints. The project employs a qualitative methodology based on semi-structured interviews with social workers from child protection authorities. Data will be analysed using qualitative content analysis to reveal key dilemmas, strategies, and decision-making patterns. The findings will contribute to a deeper understanding of social work practice in the field of child protection and provide a basis for professional and academic discussions on professional autonomy and ethics in social work.
