AnotationThe project "Power Elites in the Medieval Czech Lands" follows on from the research activities of the Vivarium Center and its previous projects, which were dedicated to understanding various aspects of medieval society, culture and sources. The proposed project also directly follows on from projects that were solved in 2024 and 2025. The main goal and benefit of the proposed project is the intensive involvement of PhD and MA students in the field of History/Historical Sciences in teamwork and research on medieval written and material sources, focusing on the possibilities of their interdisciplinary research, their analysis and interpretation. Following on from previous projects, the team will focus on (continued) research on the issue of elites in the Czech lands, or in Central Europe in the Middle Ages. The emphasis is placed on the topics that individual team members deal with in their dissertations or diploma theses. Attention will be focused on the ruling environment and the nobility. The issues will be viewed from a broader perspective: cultural, economic, social and legal, with regard to the topics of the student theses, and various methodological and interpretative approaches will also be included. The project will result in the processing of parts of the graduation theses and also the final outputs of the students, which will be implemented in the form of articles or studies in peer-reviewed journals and active participation of students in the colloquium.
