| Anotation | Early, rapid, simple, and effective diagnosis is fundamental for the prevention and treatment of various diseases. Common methods for detecting biomarkers of various diseases include enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) or polymerase chain reaction, which require relatively expensive equipment and higher consumption of chemical reagents. This study focuses on the development of various biosensor platforms for electrochemical biomarker detection, which can be used as a suitable alternative to the traditional methods. The proper functionalization of the electrode surface is fundamental for the development of highly efficient biosensor platforms. For this purpose, chitosan proves to be an ideal material for the development of new electrochemical biosensors with high sensitivity and selectivity. The aim of this study is to design various approaches for biosensor surface functionalization by chitosan for biomarker detection. The final point is to assess the practical applicability of the developed biosensor platforms and compare the obtained results with the standard common method. |
