| Anotation | The aim of the University of Ostrava is to increase and modernize the accommodation capacity of its own university dormitories. The project objective is to build two parallel dormitory blocks on the premises of the existing Jan Opletal Dormitories at ul. Kranichova 1433/8, Ostrava ? Slezská Ostrava on the site of the existing block ?C?, which will be demolished as part of the construction. The new blocks will be connected by an entrance part on the 1st floor level and by communication joints with the existing two blocks ?A? and ?B?, which will be preserved. There are designed parking spaces at the 1st underground level under the entire floor plan of the new two blocks due to the requirements arising from the zoning plan of the area in question. The two new accommodation blocks will increase the accommodation capacity of the University of Ostrava by 663 places and ensure the required qualitative modern standard of accommodation for Czech and international students. The emphasis is placed on the insulation of the buildings, including the use of high-quality fillings for openings. The source of heat and cold will be ground boreholes and heat pumps, and a significant part of the electrical energy will be covered by photovoltaic panels placed on the roof of the buildings. The supporting reinforced concrete structure of the building will be provided with a high-quality perimeter and roof cladding. |
