AnotationThe project "The Role of Elites in Medieval Czech Lands" is a continuation of the research activities of the Centre Vivarium and its earlier projects, which were devoted to understanding various aspects of medieval society, culture and sources. The main contribution and goal of the proposed project is the intensive involvement of PhD and MA students in History/Historical Sciences in teamwork and research of medieval written sources with a focus on the possibilities of their interdisciplinary research, analysis and interpretation. The team will focus on researching the issue of elites in the Czech lands in the Middle Ages, which will emphasize the topics that individual team members deal with in their dissertations or theses and professional scientific activities. Attention will be paid to the rulers of the Bohemian Middle Ages, as well as to noble families and church and town elites. The composition of the team will allow to process the issues from a broader perspective: cultural, economic, social and legal, and will also include diverse methodological and interpretative approaches. This will result in partial final outputs by academics and PhD students, which will be implemented in the form of articles or studies in peer-reviewed journals and active participation of all team members in workshops or conferences.
