AnotationThe project aims to carry out a detailed linguistic analysis of the so-called external factors (facteur externe), which have an effect especially on the lexical component of the French language. The research concept is primarily based on the theory of the leading French lexicologist Jean-Francois Sablayroll, who talks about the so-called internal (facteur interne) and external (facteur externe) factors that play a fundamental role in the development of the French language. The so-called external factors mainly include foreign languages with which French has come into contact recently. In the current linguistic context of France, it is mainly English and Arabic. Italian, Spanish and German have a less influence on French language. As part of our research, we want to focus especially on the above-mentioned languages and the penetration of loanwords from these languages into contemporary French. The special platform Nénufar (http://nenufar.huma-num.fr/presentation/),which digitizes the most widespread French written dictionary Le Petit Larousse Illustré will be used for our research. Thanks to this platform, it is possible to find out not only the exact origin of loanwords that entered the French language, but also the specific year when the loanword was introduced into the dictionary. Our task will be to determine in particular the main sources of these loanwords and then to focus on their adaptation and influence on the French language.
