AnotationThe project will continue to develop and refine methodological approaches to correctly and accurately identify individual species of organisms using modern fuzzy modelling and machine learning methods. We will mainly focus on image recognition for subgroups of organisms (amphibians and reptiles, straight-winged animals, mammals) and its direct application in mobile applications. Another part of the project will be to communicate with users in order to adapt the user interface and to make wide use of the collected data, including research based on occurrence data recorded by mobile applications. The project proceeds from our previous research that demonstrates theoretically and practically the potentials of methods such as species identification using image, occurence and environmental data. The main aims of the project will therefore be: Use of fuzzy logic and machine learning for automatic identification based on image recognition in the Herpeto-Hunter CZ application. Use of fuzzy logic and machine learning for automatic identification based on image recognition in the Orthoptera Hunter CZ application Use of fuzzy logic and machine learning for automatic identification (especially based on image recognition) in the Mammal Hunter CZ application The research will be performed in collaboration between the Department of Biology and Ecology with the Department of Informatics and Computers and the Institute for Research and Applications of Fuzzy Modeling. The output of the project will be the improvement of identification mechanisms using automatic image recognition in the mobile applications Herpeto-Hunter CZ or Orthoptera Hunter CZ and the iOS version of the Mammal Hunter CZ application, publication in an impacted scientific journal and presentation at selected conferences (e.g. at the European congress on odonatology 2022).
