AnotationThe proposed project aims to examine the ongoing process of transformation of social services in the Moravian-Silesian Region for people with mental, disability and other disabilities in the process of deinstitutionalization. New paradigms in social work since the second half of the last century represent forms aimed at preserving clients of social work in the natural home environment integrated into the community (based on community social work). They rely on outreach support teams, relief services and residential services based on the concept of ordinary housing and integration. Deinstitutionalization is practiced as a transition towards the provision of social services aimed at individual support of human life in the natural environment of the community. In the Moravian-Silesian Region, the concept of quality and transformation of residential social services was created, which included a total of eleven institutional care facilities, which prepared transformation plans and implemented them in previous years. This was followed by a period of transition from the constitutional model to social services provided in the user's natural community and supporting the user's social inclusion in society and local communities. The concepts are interconnected and at the regional level, social policy is governed by strategic documents, especially the Development Strategy of the Moravian-Silesian Region for 2009-2020 and the Medium-Term Plan for the Development of Social Services in the Moravian-Silesian Region for 2015-2020.
