Course description:
A midwife has an irreplaceable role in the current health care system. She helps pregnant women, mothers and mothers-to-be physically, educationally and emotionally. For many women, childbirth is associated with fears of pain. Therefore, various methods, aids and procedures are used in contemporary obstetrics, which are based on respect for the individual wishes and needs of the mother and her partner.
Objectives:
To orientate oneself in alternative methods in obstetrics.
To support early contact of the newborn with the family.
To apply alternative techniques during pregnancy and childbirth.
To be able to educate women about the possibilities of using alternative methods in obstetrics.
