This course explores the socio-economic transformation of Central and Eastern Europe from early industrialization to the present. By focusing on the environmental and technological impacts of this history, students will learn how to apply historical analysis to understand the region today. Ultimately, the course provides the context needed to trace the roots of contemporary social and environmental trends.
Our teaching approach is designed to help you actively engage with history rather than passively memorize it. You will work through a problem-based learning model, analyzing real-world historical cases and complex puzzles related to climate change, pollution, and social inequality.
