Annotation:
The purpose of this course, building on the 'Social and Cultural History of Great Britain', module, will be to familiarise students with contemporary Britain and its most significant issues, as well as to reflect on these issues in a comparative way with the Czech Republic. Students will be expected to read both factually and critically, and to participate in seminars based on assigned reading. By the end of the course students should have a comprehensive understanding, both factual and critical, of the major debates and issues affect Britain today.
