Course description: The professional practice subject is designed as a practical subject. Professional practice will take place according to the practical teaching plan, under the guidance of a professional practice guarantor in cooperation with a mentor from clinical practice, who is a qualified expert in his field and will have appropriate preparation for the role of a teacher. Students will learn skills in midwifery. Clinical workplaces for teaching will be selected based on established standards - they will meet established standard criteria, the validity and compliance of which will be contractually ensured. The focus of professional practice is on care in the delivery room, care in the postpartum period, care for pregnant women with high-risk pregnancies, care for newborns in the neonatal ward, care for high-risk newborns in the department of pathological newborns and care for gynecologically ill women. Objectives: Students will become familiar with the structure of secondary care and individual types of secondary care facilities, especially the organization of secondary care services for women and children. Students will learn to assess the overall health of women from the perspective of providing individual nursing care. Students will acquire basic nursing skills.
