Annotation:
The subject X-ray structural analysis defines and describes the basic concepts of crystallography and X-ray structural analysis. By completing the subject, the student gains an overview of the possibilities and applications of X-ray diffraction analysis as a method of identifying substances. The subject will provide students with knowledge of X-ray diffraction analysis methods. Particular attention will be paid to the theoretical background of the diffraction phenomenon, the origin of X-ray radiation and a new concept of crystalline substances. The subject will also discuss some X-ray diffraction analysis procedures that are important for industrial applications and for the characterization of materials.
Lectures are held in Czech language. Education materials and consultations are available in English for foreign students.
