Course objectives: This course aims to get students acquainted with some of the most salient issues in the contemporary United States and United Kingdom. The course is meant to be comparative in nature and also features selected representative literary texts of modern American and British literature which reflect important societal issues and complement the topics discussed. It will use academic articles, literature, and visual media to provide as comprehensve a comparison as possible.
