RNA editing in non-model flagellates

Anotation	Armed with new tools to analyze canonical and non-canonical RNA editing at the level of singular events, we will study this process in non-model trypanosomatids and other euglenozoans. In addition, we propose to scrutinize the structure of kinetoplast (k)DNA and spatial localization of kinetoplast DNA maxi- and minicircles in a set of selected flagellates that we have introduced into culture and made amenable to molecular studies. For this, we will use specific probes against maxi- and minicircle sequences combined with immunofluorescence microscopy, and advanced electron microscopy techniques (TEM, SEM, and SBEM-SEM).
