The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava, announces a selection procedure for the position of:

  • Researcher (male/female) with a focus on Neurology, Internal Medicine, and Emergency Medicine, and simultaneously Head of the Working Group for Research in Prehospital Emergency Neurological Care (PECRG)

Job description

  • leadership and further development of the Working Group for Research in Prehospital Emergency Neurological Care (PECRG);
  • design and implementation of scientific projects in neurology and prehospital emergency care, including efforts to obtain national and international grant funding;
  • diagnostics, prevention, and treatment focused on acute neurological diseases, especially ischemic stroke;
  • diagnostics, organization, and treatment in prehospital emergency care, including the implementation of innovations;
  • publication activities;
  • international cooperation.

Qualification requirements – required

  • completed university education in General Medicine;
  • board certification in Neurology and Internal Medicine;
  • completed doctoral studies in a medical or healthcare-related field;
  • expert in vascular neurology and prehospital emergency care;
  • expert with active involvement in international medical societies;
  • at least 3 years of experience in a managerial position in healthcare – experience with team leadership;
  • at least 5 years of research experience;
  • publication record;
  • English language proficiency at C1/C2 level;
  • ability to establish international cooperation;
  • positive, independent, and creative approach to work;
  • ability to solve assigned tasks operatively.

Qualification requirements – preferred

  • experience in the development of clinical professional guidelines;
  • experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate theses at a medical faculty.

Research level

  • R3 – Established / R4 – Leading (research group)

The expected form of employment

  • 10% or by agreement.

The duration of employment

  • Fixed-term contract for 1 year.

The expected start date

  • March 2026 or by agreement.

Wage conditions

  • in accordance with the Internal Salary Regulations of the University of Ostrava.

Information about the selection procedure

The first round of the selection procedure will take place without the personal presence of applicants and will consist of an evaluation of the submitted materials by the selection committee. Only selected candidates will be invited to the second round.

The announcing authority reserves the right not to select any candidate or to cancel the selection procedure without providing a reason.
