  • Vacancy for the position of Director of the International Office, University of Ostrava

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Working/study/research experience at a foreign university is an advantage
  • Ability to understand/manage programme budgets and work efficiently with multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, second language is an advantage
  • Maturity, flexibility, diplomacy, and the  ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and enthusiastically with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to international cooperation, mobility, study or research is a major advantage
  • Project coordination experience (experience in an international office or with international projects is preferred) or international management experience at an international institution or corporation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategy and vision for the International Office (IO) in different areas of international cooperation as well as in different regions of the world.
  • Identify and pursue grant funding opportunities, as well as other appropriate sources of external funding, to enhance the long-term sustainability of the IO and its development.
  • Initiate and facilitate collaboration with other relevant units within the University of Ostrava.
  • Lead and coordinate budget planning and with other relevant implementation of international strategy at the University of Ostrava in collaboration with the Vice-Rector for international affairs, the Bursar, the head of the Rector's office and the Vice-Deans of individual faculties.
  • The Director will provide vision, leadership and innovation, developing and implementing the strategy for the IO in alignment with the University's strategic priorities.
