Annotation:
This course introduces students to media studies. Its first objective is to move beyond everyday preconceptions about media by examining key theoretical approaches and thereby expanding and deepening students' understanding. In this regard, the course aims to cultivate the ability to view media from multiple perspectives and to comprehend the interrelations between them. The second objective is to supplement this foundational or timeless framework with contemporary issues, allowing the course to engage with current debates and challenges in the field of mediasuch as disinformation and artificial intelligence. The course is taught in English.
