AnotationIn the Czech context, theoretical definitions of the apocrypha as a contemporary genre are usually reduced to encyclopaedia headwords summarizing several common features. The ?apocryphal? as an attribute of a work of fiction, however, is assigned by literary-critical and literary-historical practice to those formally and distinct in terms of content texts using varied creative devices and methods. This variety is particularly represented in intertextual relations as apocryphal referencing to pre-texts may be realized in numerous ways. The basis, therefore, of the proposed project is detailed researching of the structural features of apocryphal texts in contemporary Czech literature, with a focus above all on their intertextual dimension. A diachronic comparison with manifestations of the apocrypha in older phases of literature and a comparison with selected apocrypha in foreign literature will be part of the proposed project. In the planned monograph, detected genre constants and transformations will consequently be placed amongst the wider circumstances of the post-modern culture.
