AnotationThe project is based on a need for complex elaboration of the issue dealing changes of the Christian morality in town society between the 13th to 15 th centuries in the Bohemian Lands in the Central European context. The main sources for research will be tractate literature and visual Arts. The forming of the teaching on the Seven deadly sins represents one of many views of reflecting the Christian morality. The environment of the Bohemian Lands offers to a researcher interesting reflections and impulses or even attempts for changes in the period society behavior. Another researched aspect will represent the reflection of these changes in the visual culture of the period. The output of the project will be published in monograph that will content two studies, one dealing with the general historical context of Christian morality development and elaboration of the Czech tractate literature on Seven deadly sins and the second will deal the iconographic moralizing themes in Central European visual arts. With regard to interdisciplinary necessity concerning this project the team consisting of expert in history, art history and philology will be established.
