AnotationThe aim of the presented project is to map the settlement conditions and population development of the specific cultural, social and reproduction minority living in the Czech lands since the early Middle ages - Ashkenaz Jews. Due to the legal and practical oppression from the side of the Christian majority this minority was forced to live in the specifically structured living conditions formed in the course of time by the state power according to tohe development of the current mentality which resulted in the fact that the state approach to the Jews differed in slight details from one historical country to another - this is the reason why this proposed project is focused on the territory of Moravia in its frontiers from the year 1740. The project should cover the time period from the Thirty Years War up to the end of the World War I (1618-1918). This three hundred years horizon gives optimal opportunity for the use of standard methods of historical demography and it is also suitable for social historiohraphy, history of everyday life, gender history and also historical anthropology. So the project is targeted to the interdisciplinary approach allowing multidimensional grasping of the project material.
