Annotation:Migration is a social phenomena that is on the historical point of view, but also today present everywhere, and evokes mostly negative feelings of fear and anxiety. The aim of the course is to clarify the basic concepts associated with the sociology of migration and to gain the orientation needed for a deeper understanding of migration processes as specific social phenomena. Based on selected texts, students will get acquainted with the basic mechanisms and aspects of migration. Theoretical knowledge will be supplemented by specific examples based on social practice. The course will be held in English. Some materials might be in Czech language, also Czech speaking students have the possibility to write the final essay in Czech language.
