The aim of the course is to familiarize students with some pitfalls of Russian phonetics, to summarize the basic knowledge about the phonological system of the Russian language, which they have already acquired as part of the study of phonetics and phonology, and to expand it with knowledge from Russian synchronous accentology, i.e. of the science of the Russian accent, which tries to describe its regularities, as well as its extremely variable character, esp. mobility, versatility (or freedom), and function, e.g. the ability to distinguish the meaning of words, etc. Special attention will be paid to the practical side - i.e. reading aloud with adherence to the principles of quantitative and qualitative reduction of vowels, correct articulation, palatalization or intonation, as well as the so-called accenting texts of a different nature and remembering important rules that partially define the behavior of a Russian accent.
