AnotationThe present research project addresses the different types of relationships that exist between researchers, gatekeepers, and socially excluded people. We examine the dynamics of power associated with the recruitment of marginalized groups through gatekeeper research in social work. The main goal of the project is to understand the process of negotiating cooperation and building a research relationship between the researcher and the gatekeeper during the various stages of the research process and to find out what facilitates or complicates researchers' access to hard-to-reach populations. The goal will be achieved through a qualitative research strategy, specifically through in-depth semi-structured interviews with researchers and gatekeepers. Research should explore the possibilities for the gatekeeper to be involved in research and its role in the various stages of research, conflicts between the interests of research actors and gatekeepers' own views on researcher hosting issues, and how relationships can be improved for meaningful and successful research. which have so far rarely received a voice in research.
