AnotationSarcopenia is a syndrome that is defined by the concomitant decrease in skeletal muscle mass, strength and function. It is the main cause of increased incidence of falls, fractures, increased hospitalization, impaired quality of life and loss of self-sufficiency. Seniors with sarcopenia have difficulty climbing stairs, find it difficult to get up from a sitting position, have difficulty opening bottles or glasses and carrying or lifting a weight of 3 - 5 kg. All these factors negatively affect the quality of life and reduce the self-sufficiency of seniors. the main aim of this research is to find out the prevalence of sarcopenia and its influence on the self-sufficiency of seniors. Differences in the self-sufficiency of seniors with sarcopenia and without sarcopenia will also be measured depending on demographic data and the presence of malnutrition according to MNA.
