AnotationThe project will consist of two parts: a) ecological and genetic studies of mosses - study of genetic variability and making distribution and climatic models of genera Lewinskya, Orthotrichum and Schistidium in China; b) ecological and genetic studies of wood fungi - examining the genetic (non)homogeneity of species Ganoderma lipsiense and Ganoderma adspersum in the Czech Republic. Mosses - Ecological and genetic part: The project follows up previous research examining morphological variability within the complex Lewinskya speciosa agg. and species of the genus Schistidium, which represents a taxonomically difficult genus. The ecological part is focused on obtaining, analyzing and interpreting the data for the species distribution pattern of studied mosses group from genus Orthotrichum and Lewinskya. Climate models will help to evaluate potential distribution of study mosses under the climate changes. The mycological part is focused on examining the genetic (non)homogeneity of these two species, Ganoderma lipsiense and Ganoderma adspersum. This project will also follow up on past SGS projects which were about revision of herbarium material from selected museums. To elucidate species variability, a combination of morphological and molecular analyzes including ITS-PCR-RFLP methods or sequencing will be used. The host preference and rate of synanthropization of individual species will also be evaluated. Therefore, this project focuses on multidisciplinary issues, such as genetics, taxonomy and ecology.
