AnotationMobbing is a long-term negative phenomenon and occurs in all industries. Current research shows that the healthcare work area is very risky for the incidence of mobbing. The most endangered group is general nurses (Pantazis, A., Kavalas, O., 2016). The prevalence of mobbing in the European Union averages around 14%. The Czech Republic occupies leading positions with a prevalence of over 20% (Kozáková, R., 2018). Employees exposed to mobbing evience more health problems, besides for higher levels of depression, they are more anxious, they more suffer from insomnia (Figmeindo - Ferraz, H. et al., 2012, Yavuzer, Y., Civilidag, A., 2014). Fatigue, back pain, joint pain, gastrointestinal disorders, heart palpitations are frequent physical difficulties (Tong, M. et al., 2016). Posttraumatic stress disorder is commonly described (Sperry, L., Duffy, M., 2009). The mobbed persons are more likely to suffer from burnout syndrome (Allen, B. et al., 2015). The combination of these phenomena negatively affects the quality of care, work satisfaction, motivation, and increases the absence and fluctuation of health professionals. In the Czech Republic there is no comprehensive study on nurses. The outcome of this study will be the detection of mobbing in a representative sample of nurses in all regions of the Czech Republic and its health impacts with a focus on risk areas. The results will provide an overview of mobbing issues for nurses and can help to clarify health impacts and relationships among risky areas.
