AnotationThe aim of the project is to explore the possibilities of using the theme of the everyday life of the 20th century and its application in history teaching in accordance with the forthcoming revision of the RVP focused on the development of competencies. The aim is also to support the research activity of four PhD students in Didactics of History, whose dissertation works explore the possibilities of applying innovative methods in history teaching. Emphasis will be put on the comparison of the approach to the topic in selected EU countries and on the didactic applicability of the topic in school education. Specifically, it will be a survey of the use of the topic of everyday life in the 20th century in Czech textbooks in comparison with English, French and German textbooks and the exploration of the potential of films and series with historical topics in teaching. The method of content analysis and the method of didactic analysis of textbooks will be used to examine the occurrence of individual themes of relatively broad issues, the extent and quality of the passages devoted to them, the representation of individual types of historical sources for its presentation, the typology of tasks validating the mastery of the curriculum and the productive tasks. The project will also be enriched with research into the issue of history of everyday in expositions and educational programs for schools in selected Czech and German industrial museums. The project assumes an active participation of the research team at scientific conferences, seminars or worshops, and especially publication outputs in peer-reviewed journals that would ideally serve as didactical background for authors of new Czech textbooks of history.
