AnotationThe project focuses on a broad analysis of Landfrieden (the peace of the country) as a basic source of the provincial law in Moravia in the period from the late 14th to early 17th century. In the 14th and 15th centuries, Landfrieden-contracts concluded between the monarch and Estates were primarily a response to the events of the war. Later in the 16th and early 17th centuries, Landfrieden retained and became de facto the police orders and they were incorporated into the Provincial Codes. The origin and development of Landfrieden as an important source for legal, political and social history will be described in the context of the development of this institution in the Czech lands (Czech Crown) and also in Central and Western Europe. The main outcome will be the monograph.
