AnotationKnowledge engineering represents an area dealing with professional creation of knowledge systems. These systems can be a very beneficial components of information systems focused on the support of decision-making processes at all levels. Knowledge engineering belongs to the research area called artificial intelligence. Basic requirements on knowledge engineer skills are: the art to acquire information from experts using various techniques, understand it as the experts, and transfer it into a form represented in a computer. The knowledge engineering techniques addressed in the project will include knowledge representation (semantic networks and logical systems, ontologies for applications in practice, etc.). Knowledge, which is supposed here to be the highest form of structured data organisation, must be acquired as well as processed. Thus, the project objective is not only to represent knowledge, but to work with big data. We will primarily focus on formalisation of logical methods of structure recognition in big data or using parallelisation to make the proposed algorithms more effective.
