AnotationThe project is loosely linked to previous projects concerning the research of medieval society, culture and related sources. The main focus of the project is the intensive involvement of PhD and Master students in interdisciplinary research on the subject. Students will deal with the issue from the point of view of their graduation theses and will be involved in team work. Their participation in the project will be used to intensify the work on their graduation works. The common research theme is the issue of standards and values in medieval society that will be explored from different perspectives of sub-disciplines. Thus, the aspects of norms and values in terms of medieval law, the formation and structure of society (role of the sovereign, the ideals of knight culture), the values as the theoretical aspect of medieval philosophy, the role of ethical values, the significance of certain common values in the religion or last but not least the normative aspects of the medieval art. Norms and values are thus perceived in their broad meaning range, and the issue will be examined for the possible use of different methodological approaches and their interaction. The main outputs of the project will be completed in both years by expert studies of all the members of the research team, which will be sent to the review proceedings in specialized journals (part will be published abroad).
