| Anotation | This project is, as well as the dissertation work of the proponent focused on describing and understanding the social support of seniors depending on the type of their households. According to the Czech Statistical Office (2016), the population of seniors has seen the most significant absolute increase in the last decade. With the increasing number of seniors in the population, the number of single-person households of seniors is increasing, while the number of seniors, which are two and more members households, is decreasing. In foreign literature, there are researchers that examine the social support of single-person households of seniors or compare social support depending on the type of household of seniors (Sok, Yun, 2011, Chen, Hicks, While, 2014, Lorca, Ponce, 2015, Evans, Allotey, Imelda, 2017). In the Czech Republic, this type of research is missing. The goal of this project will be to describe and understand the social support of seniors, depending on the type of their households, based on the mixed method (Creswell, 2009). Based on this goal, the research question was formulated: "What are dimensions of social support and to what extent are for seniors, according to their opinions available, depending on the type of their households?" Quantitative research will be based on the secondary analysis of GGS, Research on Men and Women in the Czech Republic: Lifestyles and Intergenerational Relationships and secondary analysis of SHARE Data, Research "50+ in Europe". Qualitative research will be based on a qualitative content analysis method by Schreier (2012) and Kukartz (2013). |
