AnotationThe form of language used in social work with people with physical and sensory disabilities as well as of the language used in expert texts on this issue has changed because it is related to the fact that language is a living entity, that there is obvious pressure on the population to use politically correct expressions, and that the population has been becoming more sensitive to particular expressions denoting people with disabilities. That is why we consider mapping the language used in expert publications, specifically in the Sociální práce / Sociálna práca journal, important; the journal is a peer-reviewed journal on theory, practice and education in social work, which has been published since 1998, i.e. long enough for the changes to be observable. The aim of the project is therefore to detect and describe the language, including its changes, used in professional social work with persons with physical and sensory disabilities, which are observable in our principal expert periodical in the Czech Republic, i.e. in the Sociální práce / Sociálna práca journal. In order to conduct the research, the investigator chose a qualitative strategy, namely the discourse analysis of expert texts. The project is related to the research within the investigator's dissertation as well as to the chief research streams of the FSS OU.
