AnotationThe aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of sensory deprivation on selected physiological parameters in young people and its potential for the desynchronization of circadian rhythms. The principle of the study is a sensory deprivation that would be carried out on the so-called CHAMBER REST model during the exposure of a person in absolute darkness and minimal external sound stimuli for a predetermined period of time. In this study it would be 96 hours long exposure to dark. Monitored parameters are Electrocardiography (ECG), heart rate variability (HRV), blood pressure measurement, and cortisol and melatonin levels whitch can be considered as possible indicators of circadian rhythm changes and their deviations from their physiological values. In addition, the visual parameters and the visual perimeter were used to monitor the effects of darkness on the visual apparatus and any changes in its functioning, with such a long visual deprivation.
