AnotationThe project focuses on the biographical profile of the representatives of the Lichnowsky prince family in two generationsdefined by the years 1848-1918, with an emphasis on their cultural interests and activities, defining their role in the culture ofSilesia, especially in the context of the Central European region. Their example will capture the transformation of mentality, ideas, opinions, cultural and national orientation as well as lifestyle ? their diversion from romantically motivated aristocratic Biedermeier to historicism and the Belle Époque, followed by the liberal tendencies of the realistic modernism ignited by theemotionally unsettled time of the World War I. The outcome of the grant project will be a monograph and partial results will bepublished in several studies.
