AnotationThe objective of this project is to complete missing information on the dynamics of acclimation of Norway spruce photosynthetic apparatus to short-term (diurnal changes) and long-term changes of microclimatic conditions typical for summer period. We planto do both "laboratory simulations" of summer days and experiments at the Ecological experimental site Bílý Kříž. The combined effect of elevated temperature and high irradiance during transition from overcast days to clear days will be studied in detail. We will focus on estimation of signals that induce onset and recovery of midday depression of photosynthesis and on characterization of the contributions of PS II photoinhibition, stomatal effects and/or reduction of Rubisco carboxylation efficiency to the midday depression of photosynthesis under the different stress degree.
