Operational Program The Johann Amos Comenius
CZ.02.01.01/00/23_025/0008724
Key project goals:
The purpose of the project is to analyze the creation, dissemination, reception and impact of disinformation (fake news) in society, with a specific focus on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in its detection. The project combines methods from social sciences, humanities and natural sciences in five synergically integrated research projects (RPs). The research focuses on the linguistic, psychological and social dimensions of disinformation, using logical, epistemological and fuzzy methods to construct a basis for the development of tools that will facilitate the effective and rapid detection of disinformation, including recommendations for preventive measures. The project will contribute to a better understanding of how disinformation is created, its distinctive characteristics, its specific manifestations in the Czech setting, how AI tools can be used to detect it, the impacts of disinformation on trust, credibility and individual psychology, and how disinformation can be combated within selected social communities.
