Annotation: | The goal of the subject is to provide the students with the rudiments of verse theory, as it was elaborated by Miroslav Červenka and his continuators, the members of the Versification Research Group, Institute for Czech Literature, Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic. The attention will be paid both to the traditional, qualitatively-oriented verse studies (versification systems, insights into the history of Czech verse, etc.), and to the novel quantitative methods, which may be researched in various spheres (verse and general linguistics, authorial style, free verse investigation, testing style hypotheses, quantifying syllabism). Practical training, helping students to practise the acquired skills, will be part of the courses, too. |
