Annotation:Optical spectroscopy I Spectral and photometric characteristics of radiation, distribution of spectral methods. Interaction of electromagnetic radiation and matter, physical nature of radiation absorption. Basic scheme of optical spectroscopic apparatus. Methods of measuring absorption spectra, UV, VIS and IR spectroscopy - analytical use. Quantitative description of absorption in the UV-VIS region - Lambert-Beer law, quantification of mixtures of absorbing substances. Physical principles of fluorescence (Jablonsky scheme, radiant and nonradiative transitions). Fluorescence of organic molecules (mirror symmetry between the absorption and emission band, the influence of the environment on the spectra). Experimental equipment, methods for measuring fluorescence spectra and their correction. Lectures are held in Czech language. Education materials and consultations are available in English for foreign students.
