Annotation:The concept of the ecosystem services is a modern approach to the natural capital evaluation, based on environmental, economic and social dimension. The aim of this course is to introduce the concept of ecosystem services in general and focus on its historical background and roots of the theory. The concept will be introduced for any natural resources through reading, case studies, but also interviews with the scientist from well-known universities. Students will learn about basic evaluation methods (quantitative assessment) of the ecosystem services. The importance and practical application of these methods into the decision-making process will be highlighted.
