Annotation:Migration is a social phenomena that is from the historical point of view, but also todays society present everywhere. Very often it evokes negative feelings of fear and anxiety by the receiving society (host society) as well as by the migrants as incomming members. The aim of the course is to clarify the basic concepts of migration movements which are associated with sociology of migration. So, the students gain a basic orientation in this social issue needed for a deeper understanding of migration processes as a specific social phenomena. Based on selected texts, students will get acquainted with the basic mechanisms and aspects of migration. Theoretical knowledge will be supplemented by specific examples based on social practice. The course will be held in English. Some materials might be in Czech language, also Czech speaking students have the possibility to write the final essay in Czech language.
