Annotation:The subject "Critical Social Work" will introduce various perspectives in social work, specifically structural, radical, critical, anti-oppressive, constructionist and postmodern and its implications for social work practice. It will discuss the history of critical social work and its leaders. We will look at values and ethics in critical social work. The topics of participation, empowerment, advocacy, equality, diversity, solidarity and social justice will be closely and carefully discovered together with master degree students. The students will be appraised with participatory and radical methods used in critical social work, specifically with world and proaction cafes, citizens´ jury, participatory action research, photovoice, open letter, petition, demonstration and occupation, as well as critical approaches in community work. We will further cover leadership and social movements.
