Annotation:The purpose of the course is to demonstrate Raman spectroscopic method, that combines possibilities of non-destructive vibrational-spectroscopic and microscopic analysis. The advantages as well as limitations of the method in life science applications will be discussed with emphasis on biological materials. Following the general introduction, it will be focused on potential of the method for non-destructive analysis of chemical compounds in plant tissues and cells of autophototrophic microorganisms (cyanobacteria, algae), including possibilities of analysis of spatial distribution of particular analytes on a leaf or a cellular level. Student will have an opportunity of hands-on experience with the method.
