Annotation:The course is focused on practical problems and challenges in contemporary hydrology. Students will be introduced to the procedures of data quality control and methods of homogenization of time series of hydrological and climatic characteristics. In addition, the issue of flood and drought risk and the possibilities of evaluation of these hydrological extremes will be presented. Hydrological impacts of climate change worldwide and in the Czech Republic will be presented in detail. The specifics of runoff generation from urbanized areas and the issue of river basins without hydrological data will also be addressed. During the Exercises students will solve practical examples with aim to apply theoretical knowledge and modelling software (HEC-SSP, HEC-DSSVue).
