Annotation: | This course examines some of the most significant works written by ethnic minority writers in the USA. It focuses on the representation of ethnic experience in African American, Asian American, Native American, and Hispanic American literatures. Students will be introduced to the distinctive features of individual ethnic literatures. It deals with the question of what makes them unique and how they differ from the mainstream literature. The aim of the course is to contribute to a better understanding of multicultural American society. |
