Annotation:Solo Performance aims to develop technical and artistic abilities of each individual player. Through the study of technically demanding pieces, the students improve skills relevant to their instruments ( quality of tone, vibrato, left-hand and right-hand technique, bow control, intonation etc. Besides technical skills, students are also taught to develop their individual musical voice and stylistically adequate musical expression, studying major musical pieces (such as concerts and sonata cycles) for their instruments. Individual study plans are devised by the tutors according to the needs and skills of individual students. Requirements: In order to complete the course, students are required to: - study the required number of etudes and/or technical exercises (as prescribed individually by the tutor) - perform a programme of solo works (with or without accompaniment) with total The repertoire may be adapted according to requirements of various competitions which the student might participate in. Content: The content of individual lessons depends on the repertoire studied. Individual study plans are devised by the tutors according to the needs and skills of individual students.
