Annotation: | Individual tutorials aims at gradual mastering of the best interpretative level possible and overall musicality of the student. Skills development in the area of opera acting is sought. An integral part of the course focuses also on musical theory, historical knowledge and general aestetics. By studing vocal repertoire, students get acquainted with the most pronounced interpretation traditions and approaches of this specialization. In the same time, they get general overview of specific musical features of various historical styles and genres´ periods. Accompaniment forms a key part of the course, during which students strive for improving and attaining harmony with the accompanying instrument and are mastering feel for rhytm. Short-term teaching sessions are included into the course and are tutored by top performers. Each session focuses on selected specific range of interpretative art. Students are encouraged, based on their knowledge and skills levels, to nurture their own artistic personalities. Vocal and breathing techniques, vocals, solfeggias and literature on singing techniques are principal tools for delving deeper into various aspects of high quality and technically correct interpretative singing. By practising and training selected compositions, students cultivate their sense of artistic expressions, musical phrasing and working with texts (its correct articulations and expressive presentation). The course aims in its first year at elimination of technical imperfections and mastering basic habits of aligning head and thorax resonances in order to build a unified register. In addition, student is encouraged to gradually unfold and master his/her individual musical expression with emphasis on artistic creativity. Upon completion of the course, the student shall be well equipped with technical and interpretative prowess needed for a high quality public performanace of a relatively less demanding musical repertoaire (regarding techniques and range) in comparing to requirements in advanced senior classes. Requirements: Minimum of five vocals, five songs, three arias, three arias antiche One mandatory performance at interpretation seminar Performance of studied programme at commission exam in front of examination committee Minimum 70% of course attendance Content: Developing the basics of singing techniques based on individual abilities of the student and level of his/her technical maturity. The course consists of individual tutoring and accompaniment, whilst the studied topics relate to the lesson´s repertoire. Selection of singing literature hangs on recommendations, and therefore is not mandatory. Each teacher complements and adds to it based on individual competencies and abilities of the student. |
