Annotation:Orchestral Practice is a complementary study subject of student´s major specialization in the framework of Instrumental Play study programme. As a potential orchestra player, the student broadens his/her range of knowledge and skills essential for a successful career in musical orchestras. Faculty's orchestra, Ostrava Youth Orchestra, Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava are musical bodies which provide the student with ample opportunities to experience live the work in chamber of big sypmhonic orchestras. Course aims at gaining experience and elimination of technical imperfections (if the student displays any) and at gradual improvement in developing student´s orchestral feeling with emphasis on his/her artistic imaginery. Upon completion of the course the student shall display basic understanding about player´s role in chamber or symphonic orchestras. Requirements: Mandatory presence at all orchestral rehearsals Mastering individually relevant orchestral parts Performance at concerts of Faculty symphonic or chamber orchestras, or other roles in Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra Quality performance of selected concert or opera programme Content: Individual seminars´ detailed content is based on selected orchestral repertoire. The selection draws on Faculty Orchestra´s dramaturgical plans, or repertoire demands of Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra.
